Duskfade Walkthrough: Full Game Progression Guide

How Duskfade Is Structured

Duskfade is built around 4 worlds, each containing 2–3 unique biomes plus shared biome types — that structure comes straight from the developers’ pre-launch FAQ. Tick Town acts as the central hub: you return to it between worlds, and the Clock Tower at its heart is where the story concludes against Despair.

A full playthrough with all collectibles and achievements takes about 16 hours (official estimate). A story-focused run is meaningfully shorter — see our How Long to Beat breakdown.

Progression Loop

  1. Start in Tick Town. Learn the basics of the Minutero — Zirian’s clock-hand blade — and meet your mechanical companion, Cuckoo.
  2. Clear worlds one by one. Community playthroughs of the release build progress through regions including Ezarus Forest, the Celestial Kingdom, the Royal Highroads and the Auric Palace.
  3. Unlock movement abilities as you go. The official feature set includes jump, dash, grapple and glide; abilities gate optional paths, so revisiting earlier areas with new tools is how you reach missed collectibles.
  4. Return to Tick Town between worlds. Spend currency at the Traveler’s shop (buying all objects and upgrades is tied to the Shopaholic achievement) and pick up side-activities like Tailord’s kittens and Wally’s hiding spots.
  5. Face Despair at the Clock Tower. The final confrontation draws on the full movement kit.

Boss Milestones

The first major boss, Wrath, guards the early game (it was also the demo’s boss: a multi-segment health bar with platforming intermissions between phases). The final boss is Despair itself. For known strategies and the encounter list as we verify the full release roster, see the Boss Guide.

First Hours: Practical Tips

  • Explore before you leave each biome. Collectible paths frequently sit just off the critical path, and several achievements (all under 10% global unlock rate) reward thorough exploration.
  • Max your survivability early. Collecting Clock Heart Pieces extends your health bar; Temporal Energy upgrades extend your resource bar — both have dedicated achievements for maxing them out.
  • Talk to everyone in Tick Town. Several side-activities (music boxes for Arpeggio, outfits for Palette) come from hub NPCs.

Per-World Walkthroughs

We are verifying region-by-region routes against the release build right now — per-world pages with collectible checklists will be added here as each one is confirmed. In the meantime, the Collectibles overview lists every collection system in the game with what we know about each.
