How Long Is Duskfade? Story, 100% and Platinum Times
The Short Answer
| Run type | Time | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Full completion (all collectibles + achievements) | ~16 hours | Official developer FAQ |
| Efficient platinum/100% (guided) | 9–12 hours | Launch-week trophy community |
| Story-focused run | Under the above — exact average still settling | Early player reports |
The spread between the two 100% figures is normal: the developer number assumes unguided exploration, the trophy-community number assumes a guided, efficient route.
What Affects Your Time
- Collectible ambition. Nine collection systems (kittens, hiding spots, outfits, ingots, cards, music boxes and more — see the full breakdown) are where most of the extra hours live. All nine completion achievements sit under 5% global unlock, so most players skip a chunk of them.
- Backtracking. Movement abilities gate optional paths, so completionists re-enter earlier biomes with the late-game kit.
- Platforming comfort. The trophy-community difficulty consensus is around 3/10 — pure execution rarely walls anyone, so skill affects time less than in harder platformers.
Is It Worth the Price?
At $29.99 (with an official 20% launch discount in the first two weeks), a ~16-hour completionist run puts Duskfade in line with similar single-player platformers. The Steam reception is Very Positive (about 90% of launch-week reviews) — see our review roundup for the consensus in detail.
